Spontaneous Roots - Raspberry
True to our terroir, this sour ale was made using 100% local Pennsylvania ingredients, spontaneously fermented, cask aged between one to three years, young blended to old, and refermented in the bottle. This beer embodies a piece of time, to the people who make it, authentically here at the base of the Allegheny Mountains.
Pours a ruby red with burst of jammy raspberry and an off white head. The aroma is fresh picked raspberries and a very unique iridescent and complex funkiness, that began developing a few years back. The sourness is more of a combination of the pedio and the raspberries themselves, with light lactic highlights. The finish is semi-dry, sour and fruity, bursting with raspberry jelly. A truly unique beer, more fruit forward than others, but representative of our terroir. 7.9%abv. 375ml bottle.
