Hive Alive - Maple Syrup Bourbon Barrel Aged
Our 100% still Pennsylvania wild honey ale is brewed with base pilsner malts, aged hops and fermented with a mixed culture of Pennsylvania native yeast. This special vintage of Hive Alive was aged in Bourbon barrels that held local maple syrup for over a year. Aromas of pear, honeysuckle and toffee-bourbon intertwine with mild, but complex, oak (vanilla and cinnamon) and faint citrus tones. The flavor profile explodes with honey, fresh apple skins, maple and warm bourbon accents, finishing semi-dry and creamy. 18.6%abv. 375ml bottle.
